About Formula Student

Teams design, build and present a real formula car prototype – and then put it to the test in competition. Every year each team develops a new car and races it at Formula Student events across Europe.

Our year at a glance

  1. Recruitment

    In September we welcome new members to the team.

  2. Design

    Members create a new concept for the car and design its parts.

    October–December
  3. Manufacturing

    The car's physical parts are made during the manufacturing period.

    December–February
  4. Assembly

    Once the parts are made, it's time to put the car together.

    February–April
  5. Testing

    Testing is about fixing as many issues as possible and improving the car's performance before the competitions.

  6. Competitions

    Finally we get to see the results of our work – and compete!

Events

The team builds two cars: an electric car with a driver (EV) and a driverless car (DV). Each event awards maximum points per class – 1000 points in total for EV and 600 for DV.

A figure-eight track that measures the car's cornering grip.
